A friend of ours told us about this recipe–he drank it as a little boy before bed and still enjoys it as an adult. It is a classic, Indian recipe that we tweaked a little to make it simple and quick to prepare.
We like to use vanilla, unsweetened almond milk, but you can use any plant milk you like, sweetened or unsweetened. If you need to avoid nuts try rice or oat milk. If you want an especially rich and creamy treat use cashew milk. You’re going to add some spices to your milk, including the star of the show, turmeric. This bright, gold spice has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which have numerous health benefits. Turmeric has a mild, earthy flavor that works well with the other spices in this recipe.
